On holiday Portmeirion Lena (pictured) described as artificial and neither of us was impressed. Certainly it gives a photographic opportunity at every corner and every platform. It was designed by Clough-Ellis in an Italian style, and the buildings form a rectangle around a central area beyond which a road goes down to the sea. The village does not fit in with the Welsh landscape. The paying entrance is from a wood and car park.
